I think he is talking about a two piece driveshaft, like on a long bed. It is called a mid-ship or mid-shaft bearing. The carrier and rubber should come with the new bearing.

I didn't know any short beds had 2 piece drive shafts. Is this thing stock? I'll have to go look in my book. (before LUVrv8 looks in his) :D

Short beds had no center support bearings, someone has played around with your truck.

Ok, now I am all screwed up, I had posted about a carrier bearing and the one I had on my Dually figuring you had a long bed truck. After posting it, I seen you had a 4x4 and Chevy never made a 4 by long bed LUV and all short bed trucks are 1 piece driveshafts so I wasnt sure what you were talking about then I erased it. And I still dont know what you are talking about!! :( You got any pics of it???

Well its a 4x4 short bed with a two piece drive line and carrier bearing. it even has the cross member with the hole the drive line goes through. you say that all the 4 by short beds have one piece drive lines? wonder if i can just put a 1 piece drive line on then? but then the cross member would be in the way????

Series 11 and 12 did have a carrier bearing with 4WD short bed, is your truck a 81-82 LUV? If it is you will need to enter your year when you ask mechanical questions as most of us default to 72-80 when questions are asked without a specific year.

Now I am curious, because I thought I saw someone in my midst of paperwork a option for a Longbed 4x4 on the 79/80 Luv. I though the 4x4 was a package option and don't see why they could have included it with the Longbed. Now I am going to have to go find it! haha

What body style is it? The 76-80 body style never came Factory with a longbed 4X4 option.

Like I said Chevy did not make a 80 longbed 4X4 from the factory but aftermarket company's did do them for owners or dealers.
