Mine is in pretty good shape, but $300 ain't too bad. I've been wanting to take the stereo out of my truck which would mean a new dash.

But I have a feeling your wanting to know how many people would go in on a bulk buy type thing.

I was wondering will these new dashes come with instructions on removing the old dash and prepping and installing your new one?? I am wondering how easy this will be to install for some beginners on interior restoration... namely me
Thanks Husker

Hey Husker, it is a pretty easy thing to do (the swap). It is even easier if you have the windshield out but I did do mine with it in. I have some pics of my swap if you want to see what things look like. Once you get everything out of the way, you just rip the old dash out as it is glued to the metal underneath. I think mine came out in over 20 pieces. LMK if you have any specific questions.

They haven't been available for a very long time. When I did mine, I got it for $120 (I think) but that was about 10 years ago!!!!

Ya, mine was $110 from the Chevy dealer. But, like tilted said, they haven't been available for some time.

Let's face it, the cheaper the better, but you have to make money too. I thought that $500 was pretty high but $300 is at least realistic. No matter how cheap you make them, someone will think it's too high. I've learned that from selling computers. I've GIVEN people computers and still had them want more free stuff tossed in. That's just human nature I guess. I'm not like that but many people are.

At some point you just draw the line and pick a price that works for you. But there's always a happy medium where if you make the price too high then no one will buy one.

:D Will have pics up as soon as the units come off the production line about 14 days. They will look almost identical to the dash swap in moderators pics.

As far as door panels are concerned shoot us a "real-good" pic and we will see what we can do. We have a range of around 400 makes and models and maybe we can help.

Door panels and headliners are easy to do in the LUV's!! The doors panels are just flat masonite with clips, there are a million ways you can do those, mine are cut paterns covered in different vinals and velours. Also any good uphoulstry shop could whip you up a headliner in probably less than an hour. When I did my interior, they just sewed up some material using the orignal liner for reference and then left about a foot extra on all 4 sides and I just trimmed it to fit. You will have to probably reuse the rods that are in the headliner, I think there are 3 of them but I only have one left as I had to remove the other 2 for my sunroof.

i`ll be going with an aluminum dash myself.that way i can put my gauges where i want them.its a 3 piece 1 main 2 end caps cut to the length you need and slip the ends on. and the price is 120.00. i think i`ll folow that with aluminum door panels to match. later
