I have been searching the topic of hooking a toggle switch to the heater blower and I wanted to get some input so I make sure I do it correctly. I read one post on running a relay to the blower and just toggle the relay. Is this the best way to do it and how is it done? Or can I just hook up a toggle switch to the power wire of the blower? What type toggle should I be using for the amps and where do I find the power wire to the blower? I have read a post where it mentions a blue wire with a bullet connector? There are a few of those under the dash, or is it the only blue one going to the blower?

Using the old toggle to the relay switch trick on mine ;), can't remember what gauge wire... fairly thick, green. And pretty good size toggle with LED, mounted to the right of the headlightlight switch.

I hooked up a on\ off toggle switch to my blower motor. What you got to do is look under the dash on the passenger side of the truck were the blower motor is and you will see a wire with a bullet connector running from the driver side of the dash to the heater switch. I just took some 14 ga wire and disconnected the bullet connector ran a wire from the male part to the toggle switch and another from the female bullet connector to the toggle switch. In other words I made a break in the hot wire with a toggle switch without cutting any wires. Now I have an on\ off switch for the blower motor. I have an automatic so I have a console that I mounted the toggle switch to.

Just to make sure I had the right wire I turn the key to the on position without starting the truck and turn the fan on high . Then unplugged the bullet connector to make sure it was the right wire to the fan controls that controls the blower motor.

Thanks for that tip on checking the blower with the truck on to make sure it is the right wire before cutting it or hooking the wrong wire up. I will definitely go about it that way. I read an old post that someone said they had a toggle that they fried. Will a 30 amp toggle work ok for this?

also with mine I have no switch but can turn it off.... what you do is on the lever that says low med high in between each setting there is a dead spot so like mine what i did was turn the key on and you will hear the fan then move the fan switch slow from low to med and you will hear the fan stop, that is where I keep my switch all the time and have never had a problem ... its like a hidden on off switch
