Well guys and gals,
I went to race today and after an electrical fire......the 575HP 406 i built in august last year took a dump on me. ot has roughly 80-100 1/8 mile passes and maybe 5 1/4 mile shots on it. i broke the # 6 spark plug when the piston hit it. Sended a valve and rocker arm in my valve covers. The #2 and #4 plugs were soaked in alcohol and oil......so yea....its a mess. So i am going to pick up a 650HP 406 this week so i can get it up in for the points race at muncie and the big race in indy on Sunday. Heck of a way to spend the day before my birthday too, lol. Well thanks for letting me rant a little bit. But dang this sucks......So time for more HP and some nitrous injection too.

Ah the good ole days of thrashing to get the motor replaced for the next race. I have fond memories of thrashing till 2-4 in the mourning to get to the next race and am glad i don't do it any more. Good luck on your next race and from the sounds of it you are going to be starting from scratch with the more powerful motor.

Well, i took alcohol to the race shop to dyno the new motor and they had the old one out... I broke the #6 cylinder in a big big way. So the block is shot, but at least 7 pistons and rods are good, the heads are good, so they will possibly go on a 434 this winter. The intake is also good, and we havnt check the crank yet.....grrr.......i hate spending this much money.
