Yup...that'd be mine. I used a morphing program, a good photoshop program, a gif making program, and a good illustrator/painting program to make it.

It's based on an old 60's era underground comix character called "Mr. Natural" by R. Crumb.

But yours is pretty nice pink....it has a cool "old 8mm home movie" style.

Collecting avatars and image stuff is sort of a hobby of mine. I've made a bunch for folks, plus I've got tons of that stuff on file.

If you look in the "Information" section on the front page of this site, there is a pretty good-sized free download of Chevy and Luv image stuff that I gave Ben a while ago too.

I made it out of several pics I found online...if you want something like it, I can make one for ya Cat.

I had to resize several similar pics, alter their background to match, and morph them as a gif to get them to look like an animated cartoon.

Just find the image or images you want by doing a google search, and give me a link to them.

It's no problem, I do this kinda stuff as a hobby in my spare time to keep from choking people out...lol

Hey Cat, what do you think of this?

Image

That was made from an original black-n-white poster by R. Crumb (and a pic of your truck that I borrowed from you...lol) that I chopped up, resized, photoshopped, morphed, and animated all together.

That should give you an idea of what's possible. It took me about an hour to do - only because I'm a little out of practice...lol

Not bad for an old guy, huh?

Feel free to use that one in the meantime if you want to. I already tested it as an avatar here and it'll work.

In order for it to work here , it has to be made as a .gif file and be just the right size. And anything that you want to upload to get hosted by any image site has to be a certain size too.

That can create all kinds of problems when you try to use several images to create an animated one. It took me a bunch of research, and some trial and error to figure that all out.

It kinda limits you to only being able to use about 4 or 5 small images to make it from.

A morphing program called Abrosoft FantaMorph 3 that I've had for a while. I sorta "acquired" it like a lot of software I have...lol

Basically, once you get the pictures the same size, the right color, and insure that they are clearly visible, then you run them thru the morphing program in the right order and at the right frame rate to create an multi-imaged animated .gif file that is small enough to be acceptable as an avatar.

I use XP's freebie image resizer tool, good old microsoft paint, photoshop CS2 wth a bunch of custom filters, the morphing program, and sometimes a couple of .gif making and editting programs I have.

When I first started out doing avatars, it took me a long time to get the right steps and their sequence order down, but now it's easy.

I probably should write a tutorial one of these days but I'm way too lazy....lol

Yeah...but I've been really busy lately with work and my motorhome...sorry for the delay.

I'll get to work on it tonight.

I just have 1 quick question. Do you want the r. crumb cartoon guy in it or just the words and your truck? Either way is OK.
