What happens when an ignition module goes bad? Does it slowly stop working or does it just stop and nothing happens when you try to start your motor? My truck runs good when its cold but then after it heats up to operating temperature it gets real sluggish and starts running kind of rough? Someone gave me an ignition module and said try it and see if the problems goes away but I havent had a chance to change them out?

You might wanna check your coil...that sounds like it could possibly be a coil that has gone bad.

My old 80 Luv that I had a few years back started doing that and after I replaced the coil, it stopped doing it and it ran fine.

I've had other japanese-made vehicles with a 4 banger that were both points type ignition and electronic ignition do the same thing.

Just my $.02 worth...

I have an HEI setup in my truck I had the coil that im using now on my luv before I switched to the tunnel ram and it worked fine then I guess its possible it could have gone bad. Its an old coil so replacing it wouldnt hurt.

It could be the module then, I've seen it before.

Well I got a few minutes to myself for once so I think I am going to go out in the garage and see if I can get the new mod swapped out.
