Well since your in CA and still have to pass smog, not much. You could go to an electronic ignition.

Headers,alum. intake,small 4 barrel carb. (450-500 cfm) tuned so primarys are on the lean side and secondarys are a little rich.This will perk it up and still pass emissions if it will pass now.Then run a 2 1/2" single exhaust with a muffler you like and have fun.

it's a v6 3.8L by the way so with the modifications Tj stated it should haul some serious ass?
