I had an idea, just seeing if you guys think it is a good idea, or if Ben would think it is... Don't know if it's been mentioned before though, so let me know.

I was thinking that we could make a new forum under Classifieds for rating users as far as service. I bought a tail light off of jeffklam, and he had great service, even had a tracking number to me the same day.

I would like to let people know this that may want to buy from him in the future, so maybe we could make a forum for it, and the name of the post can be his user name, and I could write my experience with the purchase... then if anyone wants to buy soemthing from him they can do a search, or add their own comments onto the original...

Thoughts? Comments on how it may work or may not work... and of course VOTE! lol

I'll look into what it will take to make a subforum, or some kind of user rating system.

The reality is, with the recent problems we've had, I'm about ready to get rid of the classified section and just send everyone to ebay.

Same here. There are a lot of people with parts trucks that don't want to list everything they have on ebay. But if someone asks if anyone has that part they will let them know.

This also may be able to help with the problems, since people will know if they are buying from a trustworthy person.

The only problem with a user rating is that someone has to get screwed first before he can warn everyone else.

Ben, please don't get rid of the classsifieds, that section has kept so many trucks on the road. I understand their is a problem right now, but the good out weighs the bad.

That is true... But if people have been screwed already they can warn people, so others don't get screwed. Or if 2 people have a part, and one has a good rating and the other has no rating, you can decide to take the chance or get it from a known seller...

Also it would still suck to get screwed, but if I did, I would want others to know. Better one person rather than 10.

The classifieds are a great section. I havent needed much for my LUV, but what I have needed I found there, and not on ebay. I hope you don't get rid of them, and I thought this would just help improve them a bit.

I think that this section offers more parts for our trucks then any other place on the net. You have stated in the rules that buyer must be aware of the seller and make up his own mind if it is a trust worthy seller. Just because you have added this area I know for a fact that some people have been able to buy parts that they could not find anywhere else to keep their trucks on the road. I know that Dottie needed some rear brake parts, he posted it here and I had a rear end I was doing nothing with, when I saw his post I decided to pull the parts and sell them to him. He was so happy someone offered to sell him the parts, the parts store told him the parts were out of production for 10+ years.

Please keep the classifieds Ben, it's a great resourse for all of us. It's a shame that a few shady people are putting it in jepordy.

I don't think a rating system will do anything but get people pissed off at each other here, and bring the site down.

I'm pretty new here, so I know I don't carry much weight, but I've seen these kinds of systems be abused too, and I wouldn't want that for anyone, so I voted no. If everyone was honest, and did it right, they're great, but it only takes one bad apple.

maybe two sections.... one for good one for bad...

where you can explain yourself and the other person has a chance to eplain themselves if they need to or want to

I like the classifieds, hope it stays. The deadbeats need to be outed so they only have the one opportunity to stick someone. Perhaps a bad rating means no classified posts until the issue is resolved? Illness or something might be the cause of not shipping, so a permanent ban may not be the best thing, but no explanation is not satisfactory for sure. Just my .02

OK, I've added a Trading review modification to the board. To read or post a review for someone, go to their profile.

We'll try this and see how it goes. We can remove it, if it gets abused. If you guys like it, I'll change the rules to tell everyone to fill out feedback after a transaction.
