Haven't been in touch with you guys much. I got a 74 Mikado given to me about four months ago ans I finally am getting around to working on it. I have a few questions to get things started, so I thought I would come to the Luv experts!
It is a 1974, nearly all original truck. Some rust in areas, but solid on the whole. The best part is that, as far as I can tell. the 31K on the odometer is original too! It is a four cylinder w/ a four speed.
At any rate, my first question is about the steering. It is extremely tight when we try to turn the steering wheel. Its almost like it should have power steering, but doesn't. It does not have a steering pump on it. Is it the box going bad, or do I need to find a steering pump to attach?
On the carburetor side of the valve cover there are four tubes about 1/4" dia. coming up above each intake runner and it is obvious someone clipped them off and plugged them. Any ideas on what these used to be? (It has a standard Hitachi carb in place.)
I think we need to get a seal kit for the engine as several seals seem pretty weepy from age, as well as a few other parts. How interchangeable are the parts for these truck with each other, as well as their Isuzu counterparts?
Thanks!
