Our local shops and the dealer say they can not get a valve cover gasket for a stcok 1974 motor. Does anyone know of any sources?

This is available from several sources online. I use http://www.rockauto.com quite a bit. Here is the part number they list for your application:

FEL-PRO Part # VS50165A (includes side cover gasket)

Current price on this is $4.25 :)

http://www.napaonline.com also has an online source, add FPG (Fel Pro Gasket) to the same PN above. Their cost is $6.49.

Good luck, there are lots of reputable sources out there. NAPA is nice becuase you can order it online and pick it up at the nearest store. I think Autozone does the same thing, but I'm not a fan of their gaskets...

I ended up getting the set locally. The large main gasket is very straight but the Rocker/Valve cover has a sig sag for looks like the head bolts. I'll assume that the Felpro product VS50165 will work. Any suggestions are welcome. The cover leaks pretty bad.

Different gasket for the later years.
