Chevy IIs ROCK! The thing all those import guys dont know is that the Novas are unibody and dont wiegh in at but 2700lbs. So now your par whith wieghts whith em and have 2-4 times the hp and tq, and rear wheel drive for better wieght transfer. My buddies 74 all stock whith a 350 would own the suped up hondas back home. They just dont know what thier fooling whith! Just be carefull where you run and remeber, the 1/4 is always better than wrecking your car.

i couldnt believe it either, but they are unibody cars so i guess it makes sense. Its the Chevelles and such that are the big 4Klbs pigs. But they still rock too 8)

The only thing I found for curb weight of a 74 in a quick search was that the 68-74 novas weighed in at 3770 stock. For the Chevy II nova I found weights ranging from 2410 on up to 28** something (for the wagon or was it a convertible :? ) Anyhoo...

Sounds like you had fun, just be careful and stay out of trouble...

3770 pounds seems more like it. I really dont think that a stock Nova could weigh about as much as a Luv.

62-65 sedans are supposedly the lightest...around 2770 with V8. I prefer the hard top though and that adds a little more weight (about 2900something). I scaled my 67 and it came in at 3100 all steel with no exhaust, 14pt mild steel cage minitubbed 9", 4 wheel drum brakes, no gutting.

Most ricers are just ebay junkys. Cold air intake and axle back exausts dont make crazy hp. or torqe. But if you get intake and a full exaust, lightened flywheel w/ stage 2 cluch big injectors fuel rail regualtor, turbos, ect. Ricers are fast as hell. I have a lancer w true cold air intake, exaust injectors, short shifter. Soon to have headers, cat, and 2-1/4 cat back, beefy cluch, and lightened flywheel. No body kit sleeper style. and when i can afford it stand alone enginge mangement AEM. Ricers are fun try one ull like it. and they handle better than older cars.

American muscle is awsome, just give those little 4 bangers some respect We try and race you cause we want to see if you actually have somthing under the hood. But I still love smashing on somthing w a V8. Fast and gas efficiant. I use to hate them to untill i DD'ed in one.

I have a 1500 lb T bucket roadster pickup on a 1980 chevy LUV all stock motor 4 speed trans with headers. When I pull up to a light and a honda rives his motor I set my line lock fry the tires smoke them out and the dudes next to me changes their minds about racing me. I need to go to the races to see how I would fair.
