Deciding on a Weber kit...

Wondering if I realy need electronic choke in Texas, "usualy" doesn't get that cold here. Had a manual choked Weber 32/36 on my first Luv 20+ years ago and can't recall if it was a pain in the a$$ starting or not. Do remember it ran like a champ.

I ran a manual choke on my stock setup years ago and it worked very well. Once i got the routine down, it was flawless. I just had to keep in mind to open the choke after the motor got warm enough. This was in No. Calif so it was used alot during the year. In Texas, it's worth the cost savings to run the DGV.

Ive used both here in the Great(?) Northwest...and the electric choke on a weber works just as good as the manual cable operated choke, if it's in good shape and it's adjusted right, whether it's freezing out or as hot as the dickens.

But I'm using the weber 38/38 model carbs instead of the 32/36, not that it matters any.

I guess it's just a matter of anyone's personal preference.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

In the end, I decided to go with the Weber 34/34 DGEC. No manual choke option with that model. Gonna do some before and after "performance" tests, to see what differences are from stock.

FYI, I now have a stock series 9 carb I'm going to sell, here if anyone interested... or off to Ebay. Not sure what would be a fair price. Carb is in great shape, clean, tuned nicely.
