When looking up parts I'm seeing 2BBL or Not 2BBL.

Sure some of you Luvbirds know what this is all about. Thanks!

Actually... I see this associated with the "N Engine code". That's in the VIN, right?

It's an acronym/abbreviation of sorts for barrels or venturi nozzels on a carb.

2bbl = 2 barrel carb.

The are talking about what type of fuel delivery system and intake the engine has, which basically is limited to two barrel carb or non-carb'ed...as in TBI(throttle body injection) or EFI (electronic fuel injection).

(Which BTW...if you going to still use your old intake/carb and just use the new engine like you would a "long block" doesn't really matter.)

Ah ok...

So let me ask this.... The "engine code n" that's asked for many parts... Is that going to be 2bbl then?

I'm having issues finding the VIN plate, they seem to be missing (yikes). I have another post going on that.

So if I've got a 1980 4WD, 2 barrel carb then is it safe to say I have the N engine code?

There was only one engine sold in LUVs in 1980. No engine code to figure out. If it fits a 1980, it fits.

Yeah, but that's not how it works when looking up parts. It does not say "1980 only" it asks for N engine code or not.
