Has any one seen this conversion done :?: I know there are adapter plates to fit Luv gearbox to rotary available.

It does have a license plate so technically it is a street truck, that sets off car alarms and makes kids cry. lol

Rotary is cool and all but they have no torque what so ever and the only way they are pretty fast if its ported and it has a turbo. Not to mention that they use up a lot of gas just stock. But if u do want to put a rotary use the rotary trans it comes 5speed already.

I put a street ported 12a with 4barrel holley, and stock 5 speed in a s-10 and it ran awesome(4.56 gears i put in didn't hurt) but it would of been better in a luv.My v-8 luv weighed the same as the s-10 did.Personally i think a rotary is a ideal Luv swap for someone who doesn't want the hassle of a v-6 or v-8.They don't weigh much, take up less room than the stock motor, and relatively easy to find complete donor rigs for parts. If i remember right my got around 15-17 mpg and i never drove it nice!

I thought about this myself... I've been a 'Mazda guy' for 8 years.

I wouldn't want to daily drive that setup.

Rotary is waaaaay cooler than some V8, that's for sure. :)

I'm looking into doing an RB20DET in my Luv actually (Nissan R32 Skyline inline 6cyl engine)

A friend of mine was telling me that someone here has one.... and when the light turned green that thing screamed past him....
Waved him to pull over and appoligized, he thought that my friend wanted to race I guess....
They chit-chatted for a bit and popped the hood... he had a rotary in there.

Havent thought of that story in a long time.... thought it would be worth metnioning tho

Cant say im a big rotor fan.

I doubt that the RB20 will fit.
I cant even get the trooper power steering pump to bolt on the front of the stock motor without it hitting the crossmember under the radiator.

You might be better of with a VG30

Cheers, Bob.
