I saw you were going with an LS1. I'd say a GMPP hot cam, the intake that will let you use a carb, (unless you were going to add the fuel injection) and a 250 shot, a tranny that will take the abuse, definitely going to have to upgrade the rear end.

LS1 is pretty stout. I would say studs in mains and heads with a custom cam grind for nitrous and of course a 9". Start with a 150 shot and go from there. If you can make it hook and on the bottle it should be no problem.

here ya go.... if no one minds me posting another forum site (if so, then just delete this)

ls1tech.com
or
performancetrucks.net

Usually on PT.net someone is selling a supercharger... sometimes injectors and extra pullies

They ususally sell some decent used cams on both sites too...

There are also sponsers like TBRYNE and you can find them online, they are always running specials and group purchases.

despite popular belief 10's isnt very expenisve. the last motor I put together (several years ago) was a 383, Arias 11:1 pistons. iron Dart II Sportsman heads with 2.02/1.60 valves and some minor bowl work, a .550/.550" flat tappet Schneider cam, X rods (probably not the best choice but thats all we could afford) 2976 Super Victor with an 850 Holley out of the box and a 250 plate system. this put a heavy heavy (3775# with driver) 2nd gen F body into 10.58. with a TH400 3800 Continental converter, 4.11 12 bolt with 28x10.5" Goodyear eagle slicks. It should put a light ass LUV into low 10's. PM me if you want more specs, I think i still even have the cam card. anyway we did it all on cheap used pieces. I think we had less than 4K into the motor. nothing exotic no roller, no JE piston, no Demon carb, nothing special. 500-550hp really isnt too bad. but sbc start to become more of a challenge financially if you decided to go beyond that. LS1 hell its a little more $$ but even easier to make HP. buy a 408 short block some L92 heads fully assmebled from SDP for $900 carb intake, custom cam. its hard NOT to make 550 hp with a gen III sbc.

I am getting ready to take mine to the nostalgia drags in May for the first time. I hope I can break 14 lol. 400 horse 350 ,3:73 gears, 2500 stall. At least I'll have a starting point. Hate to see what I am gonna have to do to make it an all out competitor. Just wanna have fun and the fastest street truck in my town.

as long as you don't spin too much, this shouldn't be a problem.
