I have no clue, may have replaced the 5 for a 6 I have done that a few times. I have some sloppy hand writing. All I know is I have sent the thing out like 3 times and it still never made it to him. As soon as I get my hands back on it I will check the address a 1000 times and do a next day delivery. Post office was closed by the time I made it to town today. So it will be Monday before I can do anything.

I have looked at your pics again and came to the same conclusion but kept looking at it. I am assuming that what I took as a flange seated on the upper part of the steel plate is or could be the rubber boot that covers the top of the ball joint. Since this is what I am looking at then I offer my apology.

slow night at work. No hair, teeth, eyeballs or other body parts to radiate. Found this on the net tonight. Just stumbled onto it actually. V8monza.com it tells of converting monza discs to S10 discs. I wonder if the spacers that are in the package will fit the taper of a luv balljoint??....Guess that could be found out from a willing parts man if the taper is the same on S10vsLuv balljoints.

Checked up with it monday they said that would have to pull it from rout and the corrections would have to be done there. Today I haven't been to town been hauling cars all across the county hauled off 2 s10 that where sold and a old 70's bmw that was a customers had to be cleared out of the way. You haven't been abandon. I had to make sure my father was happy before I could do anything else.

Being that I have hardly had time to get to town my brother has taken care of it Hyper. You should be seeing a package any day now.

Truck update:

I have picked up some pieces for my truck today out of a local junk yard. picked up a spare set of tail lights. Finally got a passenger side chrome trim piece for the tail light, ash tray w/ lighter, passenger side "oh crap" handle, factory auto center console, and a e-brake handle out of a mid 80's Camaro. I may pick up a front valance piece at the 1st of the week. Hopefully I have caught up enough to be able to do a little work to my ol' truck.

This is just a joke at this point and it was played on me.

I has been 6 months since I was to get a set of plates for work I did for you and I have yet to get them. You have 'suposidly' sent them 3 times and all 3 times they never made it for some mysterious reason.

Don't make deals you can't keep and/or promises ment to mislead. Now I have a project half done and not the know how to complete the front end. Great. thanks a lot

Work in the state mail room now and all goes by zip. Has to have a legit street or po box or it still can be returned to sender. Hope there is a return addy

Want plates too someday but probably gonna stay 6 lugs for now until something comes up positive other than the aerospace.

I wouldn/t mind but not sure I can handle the conversion. i am a mechanical person but not sure ifi can even get the parts or pieces made to fit.
Really liked the idea of the s 10 swap since I have an 88 withthe parts to use. Just don't have the money to fork out for the aerospace kit since I am putting a lot into another s 10 and trying to get some other stuff finished on my luv.

I have over 2,000 miles on my Toyota conversion now and have had no problems. But keep in mind when building something new and you are not doing the machine work your self it can be a pain in the butt at times. It could be "blackluv is having problems but it is not his problem that you have your truck tore down and do not know what to do,just maybe you should have waited until you had the parts before you tore down your truck huh. so please build a bridge and get over it and put your truck back together and quit bad mouthing somebody because you don't know how to fix your truck.

I believe he stated and it was backed up by Blackluv himself that the parts were in the process of being shipped. Not in a box ready but dropped off to the shipper. I would believe he tore his LUV down to get a head start since the parts were confirmed in the mail by the shipper Blackluv. I also read it as he knows how to fix his truck but does not know how to make this plate. Why has this concerned you TJ, you write to tell him to quit bad mouthing but you have had no problem doing it?

I went to a hot rod (nhra) show over the weekend....

When I used to go I used to look at different things... thinking, "man what a great job"
Now I see all sorts of goofy shyt....

I saw someone who had just chopped the section of the frame that holds the front suspension work and welded it to his frame....
It was obvious because the other frame was larger than the frame on his ride.

I started thinking of the LUV when I saw it.... wondering if something like that would work

Not for me though... I did some research on aerospace and I think I will be happy with thier set up.

FYI- I had been in communication with the individual a lot regarding the convertion. He gave me much needed details and advice as I started shopping for parts. I appreciated it. We made arrangements for him to ship me the plates. I then tore down the front end of my Luv in preparation. I am unsure I can use some fo teh parts I took off due to them being damaged when I took them off. Weeks went by then month, now we're on 6 months + with no plates.

I have given him my address numerous times to facilitate the process. I would offer to give him a lot of money for plates at this point as incentive but am warey of him taking my money and not giving me anything in return.

I ended up going out on my own and trying to fab a set myself. The problem is the lower ball joint location. The rest is simple simon. I have went through $50 in steel with 2 sets of failed plates. It isn't easy.

Now I have a front end tore apart and minimal parts to put the stock setup back tgether. If I could d the aero space setup for $600 now I will do it. Just not sure I have the parts necessary to build it up to the point the aerospace goes on.

The only thing I can say is I was hoping to be able to do a swap with my s 10 parts I have. If there was problems in the design or being able to get a set out as promised for some reason it should have been explained. Hyper's truck would not be down as of now.
I still am interested in the plates if availabel at some time but won't take mine apart until plates are in hand
This whole thing I think got a lot of people interested in a swap but has since kinda gone array.
Hyper what do you need to get yours back to a point were you can start over.
Oh well what do I know anyway.

I need to sit down and look at what I have. I can't remember how the lower ball joint is set up (its been that long since I pulled it all apart) on the Y looking control arm. I don't think I have anything beyond the control arm down there anymore. Upper arm I drilled mounting holes for the s10 ball joint.

If I was to try the aerospace setup? What do I need from my stock setup to do that?

I have an 80 4x4 I can get for 50 dollars and it has the whole body and drive train except motor. i can probably get it soon and take the front parts you need. Whole upper and lower contol arm assembly. The lower ball joints if I remember bolt in. Will have to look again at mine.
Not sure on anything on the aerospace kit.
if I can help get you the parts I'll do what I can..
. I know there are some junk luvs aroud our junk yards tghat will have everything also.
Wished I wouldn't have junked my other 2 out now for scrap. I had everything you need. Figures.

If you have the stock lower ball joint measure from the center line of the outer bolts to the center of the ball joint i know it sounds easy but draw a line between the bolt holes then measure from that line to the center. You don't have to be dead perfect on this but the closer the better,at least make it a little longer as the upper a-arm can be adjusted to compensate a little bit .If you mark the center of both sets of bolt holes you should get real close to center to center, take your time and you will get it right the first time.
