ok so my 74 luv sometimes idles and sometimes doesnt, me and my dad thought it was a vac leak but we fixed that. now he is telling me the idle solenoid valve acts up and probably has a short somewhere. i have it jumped so its always on, but it still acts up. has anyone else had a problem like this? and does any one know where i can find a wiring diagram for it?

i would start out with checkin the spark, make sure spark is good in all plugs, check then if you got posi fuel flow, get a clear fuel filter that helps a bit. Check float bowl, check choke, vac leak and lines, basics are your friend. 8)

I had the same problem for awhile, finally just bought a rebuild kit for the carb...Tore it down, soaked it, cleaned it out real good put it back together and now it runs better than ever,,,I don't even have to pump the accelarator to get it started anymore. Can't believe I waited this long to rebuild it....

yeah i had done that too, turned out to be a vaccum leak and the idle solenoid has a bad wire somewhere so i jumped it so its on. today i tuned it up a bit and it starts fine, dont even need to touch the gas. i got soo excited lol and i also lowered it another inch in the rear today so now its lowered 4 inchs! wooo!
