Anybody bent the factory leaves on the rear ? I think I have bent mine at the shackle in the rear . Also the clamps on rear side of the leaf are wearing into the main spring . I'll try and post a picture of them .

Seen them bent on the front using slapper bars but never on the rear.

I have had the rear shackles flip, it may be starting to do this.

Plenty of spring shops in Houston. They can straighten them, rebush them and retemper them. They can add a leaf or two. Or even build you a heaver duty set of springs. with out making it ride rougher too.

I have worked with Cole Spring and Herbert Hiteman Company. Both do good work.

Richard.

Grandmaster of the "Shade Tree" way.. I can't see the yard for all the cars. Come on down and we will sit on the porch and watch the grass grow.

sounds like a lot of weight was placed in the bed maybe? i dunno... the front gets bent really easy if you use slapper bars and really really easy if you use cal tracs.

It's this situation that i like my ladder bars.I still use my springs(over load removed)but nothing to bend, and it hooks hard to.

Well , I can tell you DON'T pull the slapper bars to help wieght transfer . I did this last night and crushed the factory leaves . It pulled the wheels so hard it drug the trailer hitch on the ground . Now i'm changing springs .
