Thanks

Had to cut the top in 4 pieces and fill a 2" gap. This is a 4" chop.Hey,I looked at your rotor upgrade.NICE.My question is,I been thinking of putting a steering rack out of one of my Datsun 240Z parts car in my LUV.Think it would work?My Datsun drag car is at http://www.v8Swaps.com

Now that's finished it's time for the LUV

Thanks

looks pretty good. before you forget how you did it, make up a scale drawing (if you can) and post it, many guys that are thinking about doing that would appreciate being able to look at where to chop it... including myself.....

I replied to your email, but just for other people wanting to know the same thing, you may want to check out RATNLUV's pics. he has installed mustang II components and a rack in his luv.

I also like the wider rear end, reminds me of my truck..... but as of tomorrow I will have one thats only 3 inches wider than stock under it.... Its coming out of a Pontiac Ventura II...

About installing a rack.I had a Mustang II rack that was narrowed and was made to mount to the bolt in cross member under the engine.I'm running the Hedman S10 v8 headers.I took it out and went back to the stock box.It was going to be a nightmare to hook up.I shortened a column, and it was going to take 3 u-joints a couple of shafts,a mounting bracket, and the angles weren't going to be good

The rearend is a early 8" Ford that is 56 1/2" wide wheel flange to wheel flange.Would work good in a stock truck being it is only 1 1/2" wider per side than stock LUV rearend. The 8" will be replaced with a narrowed 9" that I have that is 39 1/4" wide. The rear frame rails have been narrowed to 24".This chopped truck will be strip only.I'm currently building one for the street also.I used a rearend out of a S10,direct bolt in.
As far as the chop, decide how much you want and take many measurements.Find a cab that you can use as donor and try it on that one first.
