I have been freequently checking e bay for 6x5.5 wheels, especially the excalades. I know allot of people use the 17" smooth lookin ones, but the escalades also came with 18" like 5 or 6 spoke wheels, with a 31mm offset, anyone know if i would have issues fitting these on my luv?
thanks :) [/img]

You need to check the center bore and the dept from the back of the center cap to the mounting surface of the wheel. The luv has a bigger bore than some other 6-lug trucks and the height of the front hub off the mounting surface can be hard to get under a centercap. Look under "PUT MY 20" WHEELS ON TODAY" One of the members named: bagged79 has the eske wheels.

If your going to 18" wheels why not just jump to 20"? That's what I'm putting on my truck.

Hey thanks for the suggestions man, ya i ile just ask about the center bore, and if its not big enough, i guess i can always get the front ones machined, and 20" would be sick, i mean they look great on your truck, but i think 18"s are just more the look ime going for

I had 31" tires under my 4x4. If you can fit rim to the hub, the 18's will fit, but it depends on the tire on the rim.

Take the width, say 255mm. Take the aspect ratio, say 55's. The aspect ratio is a percentage. So multiply the 255 by .55. you have multiply that by 2 to account for rubber on each side of the rim. That's equal to 280.5. A mm is equal to .03937 of an inch. Multiply 280.5 x .03937 and thats equal to 11.04. Add the 18 inch rim and you have 29.04.

Like I said, I had 31 inch tires. Now on the 1980 4x4, the front hub isn't centered in the middle of the wheel well. When I brake hard, I would rub some on the back of the wheel well where the mud flap is. I think with 18's w/ a 55 series tire you would have plenty of room and still look great. Let me know if you need any help.

18" escalades need to have the center bored to be able to fit in the front, not sure how much though. +31mm offset if you plan on baggin is perfect, that is the same offset as my 17" eskies and the same offset as the silverado wheels like "Dan" & "Pee_Roy" have

Dang thats allot of calculations! but thanks emodx. I dont think i will have to much trouble with tire size though on account of the rubber bands i am getting on the wheels hahaha.

And thats good to know the 31mm offset tucks nice, eventually i want to bag mine so that will work good. those powdercoated 17"s look sick by the way

I got shot for a feature for Mini Truckin on September 30th at the Dropt-N-Destroyed show in Akron, Ohio. I actaully don't have an updated pic of the engine compartment, but this winter the firewall is gonna be shaved, trailer fenders will be installed, and batteries will be relocated so there won't be any wires seen. Hopefully gettin a turbo for the 231 also.

It is called hub centric or lug centric. I nephew truck had Caddy wheels on his Isuzu when he bought it.. The hub hole is the wrong size like people have said. His truck has 5 lugs from the factory. 90's something Isuzu truck. It would cost more to have the wheels cut than it was worth, plus he could not find anyone local to do it. He just bought new wheels.

I know this is an old post, but i wanted to clear something up.
the 18" Escalades fit like a dream, and you DO NOT HAVE TO BORE THE CENTER!
I got mine a couple days ago and the caps even fit on in the front without any machine work.
they tuck nice to!

i included a pic of the ones i am talkin about

I'd like to clear something up also! Those are a diffrent year wheel than Bagged79 has. do you know the center bore demensions of the newer eskies? I had the same eskie wheels as Bagged79 has on my Nissan and they HAD to be bored. they used the same center bore on the older caddie wheels as they used on the older Z71 wheels and THOSE MUST BE BORED TO FIT!!!!

Have you looked into replacing the caps with other ones? I was going to look into trailer axle caps before I purchased the 20" with the correct bore demensions. try looking at http://www.redneck-trailer.com/ they have a crap ton of axle parts and you might be able to get a smaller cap.
