 Post subject: sbc motor mounts?

can any1 give me ideas on what mounts to use? soild mount vs bushing mounts?

We found it best to always use a rubber or poly mount on the tranny. We now use solid mounts up front and of coarse it vibrates but
its a V8 and those are good vibrations!

The only mount i have used is a 67-69 Camaro mount .

i like and used mounts out of a 69 chevy c10. and can get new at a auto parts store for around $7.00

ok sweet, thank you. where the trans mount bolts to on the truck has to be made longer is that right?

Yes , first one i built i extended the factory mount and added angle iron to make it stronger . Second one started with the Hooker mount and ended up with a custom chassis shop mount . New (third or 4th) one will have Hooker .

ok thanks, was thinking about making one and bracing it up. might you know where i can find the body bushings for my 73??

If you want to see another mount design, look at the www.powerbyace.com piece. That should give you some ideas.
