I wonder what kind of aluminum pulley kit I can find to lower my alternator down on the passenger side of the block. i am wanting an aluminum single crank pulley and mount to match it up. i am using an electric water pump so I need something to line up as a bolt on kit. Anyone other than summit or jegs or somebody fairly reasonable sle a good set up or does anyone have one on the forum for sale.

I tried a couple of the low mount alt brackets for a mini alt. on mine. None of them worked. They all would stick out enough to hit the frame. I fabbed a set of mounts by hand to do it. Mine bolts to the 2 holes that in front of the block down low that are for the front cradle mounts like on a 56 or so Chevy. I ended up doing mine on the drivers side due to the routing of the lower radiator hose...

Forgot about the hose. My raddy only is 16 inches from top to bottom so I might be below the hose but doubt it. Drivers side might be better or just leave it on top and run an aluminum pulley on the crank

We use to put the altenator up on the manifold on the right side, when we put the air compressors in on the left. However that was using a stock belt driven WP.

In regards to your pulley setup? Log into a company called "Alterstart" this is a company out of Dallas and they make virtually every kind of alternator and a/c compressor mounts you will ever need!
And they have an online catalog you can check out, I recommend them highly, you can buy kits for low mount, high mount, dual low mounts, etc.
I think their main business in in the pickup and truck alternaor bracket business, but they sure have a lot of kits, several people also sell their kits on e-bay.
In regards to choosing the pulleys, I bought a "short"aluminum water pump and was able to choose my pulleys at a local speed shop. Quite reasonable too.
Good luck,
scjconv
