Not in a LUV, however I have installed a 340 6 pack, modified 904 and narrowed 8 3/4" rear end, into a 1971 Datsun without cutting the firewall.

Problem is that the dodge 318, 340, 360's are about 125lbs heavier and almost 3" longer on installed length with the shortest water pump. Dimple the firewall back for dist clearance, You also will need to get a rear sump pan and pickup, look at the trucks and early vans.
