i have a tranny that makes a lot of gear noise in every gear except 4th never pops out of gear easy smooth! shifting. well is like firm shifts its not like sloppy its tight. it sounds exactly like those vids of cars with straight cut gears. is it possibl its got parts in it? or do u think its just toasted. i was told when i bought the truck that it had about 500 miles on a rebuild

Mine did the same thing for a few months until one day any gear except 4th would pop and clank.

When we pulled the trans, one of the bearings were toast. As in, the balls out of the bearing were in the bottom of the trans.

any ideas on where to get parts to rebuild it? i drained or opend the drain plug but no gear oil was in there! where do i go? any trans shop?

Since it was empty, I would just fill it with oil and see if it gets better. It takes 40wt motor oil. I'm not sure how much, it's in the manual.
