well. here's what I have going on. I just got a 76 luv that was converted when new to a 4x4 with dana 30 front 4:10 and stock rear axle, a unmaried dana 20 transfercase , turbo 350 trans and buick 350 engine. I got this over christmas vacation from a friend in oregon and towed it back to iadho. I got it runniong and the wiring figured out. But he was planning on putting a radiator out of a big chevy top kick or kodiack in the bed of the truck. I wanted to tuck one under the hood! I have 3 choices it looks like . I just got a like new radiator from a friend from a 75 nova it's a 2 core with trans cooler the height is 19" length is 26". The problem I see is the height becouse of the core support cross member. I have 16" from the cross member to the top of the core support. As far as mooring this support all I have is a old stick welder and Ill proably burn hole with that! I can weld great with a wire feed but I don't have one. The last choise would be a howe 342b but then I have the height issue again?? another concern witch I can post a pic is the the water pump snout sticks into the old radiator opening about a 1/2 inch or so!! any advice or pics would be welcomed here!! thanks -Brian

I think I will save up my pennies and get a how 342aa it's 16" x 27 1/2" tank to tank, 24 1/2" core width, I don't see how you can install a howe 342a 19" x 26" tank to tank, 23" core wouldn't that stick past the hood 2 inches??

I thing the majority of the conversion owners on here have a 19x22 aluminum. I got mine mailorder from Speedway for a pretty decent price. a lot cheaper than a griffin or Howe.

Do you have to cut the lower radiator support bracket?
I only have 16 inches from the to of it to the top of the radiator core support!!

as for a radiator, ive got a one out of a mercury sable that i could give you if your interested. i had it in my datsun v6 project and it cooled really well. its a 2 core plastic and aluminum radiator. if you want it its yours. i might even be able to get you an electric fan also.
