 Post subject: 1980 chevy luv dually?

thinkin bout puttin a dually rear end under my 1980 chevy luv mikado 2wd 4 speed 1.8l gasser. if any of the other members have done this and have pics and advice let me know, also should i use a toyota box truck rear end its the only 6 lug pattern dually axel i can think of, thanks guy much obliged

JC Whitney used to have a kit to turn your axles into duely they may still have it check and see.

I don't think the Toyota dually axles have the same 6-lug pattern, as I remember it is larger, something like the Isuzu box trucks.

The toyota Duallys are not the same lug pattern, they have a huge lug spacing and have specific wheels. but the Dually toyota axles are full float which is kinda nice for maintenance.

well guys ill look on jc whitney and see if i cant find any izusu but im also thinkin bout puttin a second axel and maybe extendin the frame a little to look like a transfer, what do yall think

also i was thinkin bout just addin a cheater axel in front of my axel with airbags but bein i dont have much money i could use a small air compressor but is there any other way to do that than just airbags? thanks guys

that would be adding quite a bit of weight behind that little 1.8 for daily driving 8O

My best guess is that the mini Dualies used stock deafened
And just had wheels with offset inside and out. I posted a pick
On here so
Where of a custom conversion done back in the day by some company it looked
Pretty cool
