Hey guys, this question may have been asked before, but I didn't have time to search for it. I have my 350 almost ready to go in my 73 2wd, but I don't have the cash right now for the header kit. I do however have a set of stock "ramhorn" manifolds, which flow really good. Are there still clearance problems with these manifolds? What about a set of blockhugger headers,? Also, JEGS has a set of "streetrod" headers that they say are really good for really enclosed engine bays. If anyone knows anything about any of these products, please let me know ASAP. I can't wait to get it done. I will post pics as soon as I can. It is a 2wd shortbed. Its lowered 7" in front, 6" in the back. I have some aluminum 15" wheels on it- soon to be 16's or 17's.
I just rebuilt my motor. It is a 1971 4-bolt main 350. Edelbrock performer intake, Holley 600 4-barrel carb. Comp cams 292 degree, .490 lift cam. Comp cams valve springs. Summit gear drive. TH400 tranny with a B&M shift kit. I will be running duel 2.5" 40-series Flowmasters. With my cam, it should sound hot! I plan to have a new rear frame section built with a narrowed 9". I have been working on it for about 2 years (off and on). Thanks for the help, you guys rock!

Heddman Hedders sold me my street rod headers and they worked out fine.
1 5/8" Primaries with 2 1/2" collectors. These will flow better than the ram horns. Tim [/img]

ram horns are great manifolds if you dont have the $$$ for headers. Larry Dixon (driver for the Miller Lite Top Fuel NHRA team) has a 66 Nova with a small block on the jug. It runs 11.50's all day long on those manifolds. I believe there are 2 different types/sizes though.

will they fit though? I could just have the muff shop built and bend pipe up to them right? What about having the pipe run through the fenders like the frame mount headers?

they will fit. Not sure what you mean by frame mount. Nova guys like me absolutely love Fenderwell headers. I need to get a set made for my truck but block huggers also work very well. A guy out here has a 1936 ford coupe with an aluminum headed small block in the low 10's (probably high 9's by now) and he runs just regular 1 5/8" smalll tube block huggers on his motor.
