This will be a good and a easy swap, all you have to do is the same as the V8 swap but you will have a whole lot more room to mount the radiator.Look up the V8 350 swap info and you will have a pretty good idea on what to do and i think the manifolds will fit with no problems to as for headers Downy toyota makes headers to fit toyotas and they may work.

I have a cable type bell housing that i used in my 78 LUV with a 283 but i don't have a cable for it .It's a Monza bell and i think the cables are available still, then you make the clutch pedal end fit. It's and easy thing to do.
And yes you will have to cut a hole farther back to install the shifter, the rest is the same as you would do with the auto.
Using a T-5 with this swap would be a cool swap and no you don't have to modify the fire wall.

kind of depends on what your aiming for

you can find alot of 4.3's out of s-10's and blazers and probably someone who has done it before on some of the s-10 forum sites.

before alot of s-10 owners switch from a 4.3 to an LSx motor they will supercharge it and do alot of other mods. You might find someone selling the stuff on the s-10 sites.

I know someone in TX who keeps offering my a complete 4.3 w/ harness, cpu and transmission. I just dont have the cash nor the room to go after it at the moment.

Your on the right track with the manifold and carb, then all you have to do is get a dist. and you will have a computer free runner.
You can try to find a used HEI dist. or as i would go to the after market and get one like a MSD,DUII,or Mallory then you would have a permanent set up.
If you are going to get inside the motor use 350 flat top pistons as this will make the motor a stout street performer.

Well then the simple way (cheaper) is to run the t-body injection and is very simple to hook up other than you need a fuel pump and a return line and it is done .Like i said i have a bellhousing if you get a T-5 trans.

I know it may sound like a pain to run the injection but the start up and drive ability all year long would be more than worth the trouble.

Also if you use a S-10 rear with 3.42-3.73 gears you would get excellent fuel milage as well as a stout performer.

The reason you will get help here is the fact many of us have done the conversions and have a ton of success.
