I tyred to put a second fuel filter in and I drove it around and ever time I put the clucth in when it was in a gear and I was just rolling up hill and down hill it would do it. so i thought it was thes second fuel filter I just put in so I took it out and ran it normal so I started it up had it running at idle gave it gas and it died tryed to start it had to keep my foot on it to run and it was doing the same thing again but I drove it a bit it stop doing it. And a little bit later I put the clucth in step on the brake and it died. could this be fuel pump.I need help guys

check the fuel filter, check the fuel pump, and check the ide, and also check the timing, and the points as well, there a number of things that could be making it die. You just got the check all of the above stuff.

fuel pump is working I can see gas going thro the filter I think its a vacum hose on the carb

That is very possible. You have been poking around in there with your temp gauge deal, so you might have knocked one off or cracked a old rotten one.

turns out it was the fuel pump replaced it no more problems

What was the pump you put in? You got the part number?

it was just an electric pump not a stock one
