Looks like you discovered the problem yourself. When you hit the throttle the accelerator pump should provide a stream of gas down the carb throat. This provides a smooth transistion between the idle circuit and the mains. My suggestion is to take it back to the guy who rebuilt it and have him clean and check ALL the passages and jets. If you are doing it youself , soak it over night in a good carb cleaner, blast all passage ways with compressor air or can air if you don't have a compressor. You can also use a can of GUMOUT carb cleaner clean and check the passage ways, (Watch the eyes). Don't use wire to clean the passage ways or jets you could gouge them and change the metering. Take you time and do a thorough job at each step. Good Luck

Ck the linkage on the carb and find the arm that pushes the diaphram on the accellerator pump. Mine was stuck in the IN mode so it shots it load of gas then was stuck in that position. I WD40 that part of the carb.
Also you can ck the diaphram also. Its EZ dude handle it!
