Do they interchange as long as they are the same style? Basically, is the circuitry all the same? I am lookin for a new cluster for my 79 and i found one from a 78.

yea they should swap there's probably a difference in 2wd and 4wd because of the 4wd light. so if you have 4wd look for one out of a 4x4 or 2wd if you have 2wd.

i think nate and luv4mes clusters were swapped in an accident in the factory
As far as the 4x4 light, it should be right under the fuel gage between the OIL and GEN warning lights. I realy dont think the clusters are diferent except that one light.

79 4x4s didn't have the light. 80s did. I have two 79s and two 80s, both 80s have a light and both 79s do not. Just another one of those little quirks I guess.

A 78 guage cluster will at least be the same style as 79 or 80. 77 and older had a bit different style guage shape and texture. pre 75 might have a couple more differences but I haven't got one of them in my flock yet. As for wiring, I'm not certain but I believe the connector pinout is the same. I think you could even swap an older 77 style guage into a newer truck without rewiring, but I've never tried it.

Will the speedometer cable off a turbo 350 fit to the back of a stock luv gauge? Or will the stock speedometer cable fit to the t-350??

Now that is a toughie. I want to say yes, but I would have to see a picture cause some of those cables are square and others are trianglular.

Tried that on my first v8 luv. it worked with one tiny problem... at about 5 mph the speedo read @30 at 25-30 mph the speedo was pegged at 85.
