So my truck was running fine the other day, now I'm getting no power to my hei. I have the stock relays and pretty sure the ignition relay is now dead. No click when turning on the key also. I know you can swap out that relay for a regular 5 pin relay. Wondering if you guys can tell me what wire goes to what pin on the relay

There is no ignition relay on a LUV. It's just fused key on power. The wiring diagrams are in the info section of the site.

Hei power wire is the black/yellow stripe wire that I believe went to the factory coil. When following the wire back it goes right into the "Resistor bypass relay" No fuse

On the 78 the black and yellow wire does not go to the by pass relay, it does power part of the fuel pump relay by the by pass relay. That doesn't matter, it's just T'ed off of it. No realy gives it power, it's comes off f the fuse box that is powered by the key switch. Have a look at the wiring diagram, it's all there. I would start with a test light for power at the fuse box and work forward or backwards beep ending if you have power. I can be of much help if you don't read the diagram and understand it.

Interesting. When it was a 1.8 the black/yellow wire went to the coil and or Resistor, memory a little foggy. It goes right into the Resistor relay, (it does T off before the relay) then there is a separate black/yellow going to the fuel pump relay. The truck has been working fine without a problem for 9 months till now. If I use a jumper wire from the + post to the hei truck fires right up. I'll play around with the test light a little more

Checked wiring diagram traced it back to the fuse block, turns out that wire goes to the regulator and The heater/back up fuses. Put a fuse in the regulator spot (hasn't been a fuse there for 9 months and replaced the heater fuse which was bad. Truck is back up and running. Thank you luvrv8

Consider the relay anyways. I have one on mine because it wouldn't start cold on some days. Now I have real strong clean spark and it has helped my mileage.
