I just replaced the engine in my 1980 luv with an engine from a 1981 luv. the original coil is still in the 1980 luv (the coil that worked with the "points style" distributor), but I do have the coil from the 1981 (the coil being used with the electronic distributor). my question is; how do I hook up the electronic distributor from the 1981 to work with the setup in the 1980? there are two wires coming from the electronic distributor ( one red and one white), and can this electronic distributor work with the original coil from the "points style" distributor? if not, what all needs to be done to make this electronic distributor work?
