Have a stock LUV and my guage lights dont work. The engine light comes on when you start-up and the brake warning light works, but none of the display lights work. When driving at night, its really hard to see. I bought the truck with the lights not working so its not something that just stopped on me one day. I checked all the bulbs and they are good. Any help would be appreciated. The wiring diagram in the manual is impossible for me to trace, so....

Check your fuse's, fuse box and connections. I went thru two headlight switches thining that was the problem but it was actually a blown fuse...

My wipers and radio randomly cut out when I first bought the truck. To remedy it I took apart the fuse block and scrubbed it with a toothbrush and some lemon juice until the connectors were spic and span. Problem solved.

As for the wiring diagram, I find it's easiest to follow if I trace the line with the point of a pair of scissors, seems to keep things a little clearer and you don't get lost in the riffraff.

good luck.

The headlight switch controls the interior lights so you might have a bad switch. There are also two hot wires going to the headlight switch, one for the headlights, the other for interior and running lights. If you didn't know. I checked all my lights at the headlight switch connector, with a lil length of wire I jumped from both hots(one at a time) to each of the other three terminals in the connector. Headlights, running lights and interior. If the lights come on you have a bad switch, if they don't you have a wiring issue.

Did you try pulling the switch on and turning the knob? Variable bright/dim?
