Thank you so much for your input, everyone. So it seems like somewhere along the line, a mechanic doing a previous brake job left off the screw that holds on the drum. That key look to the center-front of the brake drum made us think it could be a threaded drum. We didn't want to try turning it the wrong way and making it too tight, or totally ruining the drums. The old jumping in before checking the water for hazards problems. Luckily my Fiancee, and her Mom, found a thread on LUVTruck.com, "can't get rear brake drum covers off." So we ended up doing the spray with WD-40, and hit it with a hammer. We pulled the brake drums apart, removed the 4 bolts behind the baking plate off with a 17 mm socket/ratchet, removing the brake hard line with 10 mm wrench, pulled the E-brake cable out of the backing plate, and pulled the axle by using a lugnut to bolt a chain to the wheel stud, then whipped it like Indiana Jones. Her Dad kept rotating and pulling a little on the axle each time I whipped it, so I didn't pull it out onto the ground. Took three hard whips, and a baby whip at the end. We used his press to press out the bearing. I only did the Passenger side so far, and the race feels fine, but the bearing was warped. Neither of us could figure out how it could bulge/bend but not damage the race, but apparently I was able to diagnose the problem, and stop driving it before any more damage was done. I forgot to buy the Bearing seal though, and my Fiancee, and her Mom went to buy one at CarQuest in town. I sent her the measurements with pictures, after we realized we forgot to send them with the old seal, so they didn't drive for nothing. The Guy at the counter half-assed it, and didn't pull out a tape to measure, and we have the wrong bearing seal. Tomorrow, we have to drive back into town to exchange/buy another seal. Hopefully then I can button everything up finally, and one less thing will be off the list to make my LUV roadworthy again. I will keep everyone posted, and show pictures hopefully when I'm done. That way anyone else with this problem should fly through it. Thanks again list-members. Aloha
