I am new to the web site and think it is great. The question I have is that I am switching motors in my 79 4x4. I would like to get a bigger cam for it. does anyone know where I can order one. Also I wouldlike to upgrade to electronic ignition instead of the points. does any company make this or is there a swap that I can make.

Welcome to the site!! I dont know much about the stoke trucks but we deal a lot with Comp cams at work and I think they would be able to help you in that field. as for the electronic aspect you may look into Pertronix ... I dont know if they fit or make a kit for a stock truck but may be worth a try...

Thank for reply. Unfortunatly todayI called crane cams and edelbrock and they said they have nothing for a 79 chevy luv. Unless i got some goof ball that had no ambition to check,,,,. I also called pertronix for an electronic ignition and they have it for 74 and 75 and they said it wont work on a 79. I dont beleive there is a difference.

Oregon Cam Grinding in Vancouver, WA

$75 + Core

You can always connect an MSD 6A ignition to the stock distributer.
