Guys I need to replace my coil.It is leaking oil and in a coil that is not good. What would you suggest? Also what are the stock coil resistance specs and how hot of a coil can I run with the points?

i've heard of people running msd boxes with the stock points. so i'm not sure if any certain coil will kill it.

I found the cheapest one I could buy about 15 dollars and bought two. One is still in the box sitting behind the seat. Keeping it company are a water-pump a voltage-reg, an alt. a set of points, dist cap, rotor, condenser and a ballast resistor among other friends.

Some cold, dark night a long way from home, it will pay off. If nothing ever does happen, that is a bigger victory.

Forgot about the fuel pump under the seat. The extra water pump and fuel pump came with the truck. At fifteen dollars a coil is a coil is a coil. I left my ignition on once and my air cleaner housing still has coil blood on it.
