Well I needed new tie rods for my truck and called moog and they no longer manufacture or carry tie rods for the luv. So I started checking out some tie rods from different vehicles for same length and taper. I found out that 68 through 74 chevy nova tie rods work perfect.

Inner is a moog#es681n

Adjusting sleeve #es350s

Outer#es381r

Awesome!
I was planning on doing this soon but using heim joints. But this is way better for a driver in dusty AZ.

i was also gonna use heims but the holes in the spindles, and the holes in the ideler arm and pitman arm are already larger than 1/2 inch and i only had 5/8 heims with a 1/2inch hole so it wasnt gonna work

if i plan ahead and use heim joints (getting the right size and such).. is that better than using stock replacement type stuff?

most race cars use heim joints for steering. it is fine. you just gotta drill out the taper in the holes and you wanna make sure the bolt fits snug and use lock nuts and if you use it on the spindle i would put a 1/2 spacer between the heim and spindle to allow for more travel (articulation) if bagged.
