People are having more and more trouble finding new ones anymore. Best bet might be a new core installed on your tanks at a rad shop. You can have them make it a 4 row that way too. This is what I did.

Try Northern Radiator. If not you can have one custom aluminum one made by Griffin or one of the old radiator manufacturers. But the easy one will be to take it to a reputable radiator shop and have them re core it. Get more cores if possible. It will help engine cooling, which helps fuel mileage and longevity of your motor!

I am in the same situation, looking for a radiator. Rondog I am pretty sure you posted it before but how much did it cost for a recore? If you dont mind me asking. Im waiting as I speak so to say for a call from napa on whether or not they can get one.180.00 bucks, 50.00 dollar gift certificate from the mother in law will help. Ive tried auto-parts warehouse 122.00 no luck outlaw radiator says it will be 190.00, waiting on napa if no luck I will try them.

I thought about putting a tee in my hot heater hose and the return line and mounting another heater core, or buying a transmission or oil cooler and using it for supplemental engine cooling would any of these things work or are they just ridiculous thoughts of the desperate?

It cost me $60 to get mine rodded out at a radiator shop. Only took a couple of hours, too.

That's what rodding means. They remove the tanks, run small rods through the core tubes, and clean out all the gunk, then put the tanks back on.

I don't recall what I paid for my re core. I think around $200.

I took mine to a radiator shop a couple of months ago the guy told me it had good flow and only needed boiling out. Took three days. Not again How hard can it be to braze and poke skinny wire through tubes? We'll see.

As far as I can tell, '76-82 use the same radiator. '75 and earlier had different inlet/outlet positions.

I bought a 7"x12" oil cooler with a 400cfm fan on it and mounted it to the grill mostly out of the way of the radiator. My heater hoses needed replaced anyway. I put tees in the heater supply line before the heater shut-off valve and in the return line and ran hose to the new "auxiliary radiator". Results: Runs a steady 180, before would get up to 215. 25 ounces of extra coolant. Note: all the heater hoses are 5/8" except the one you have to pull the front passenger side tire off to get to. Its 3/4" on the bottom 5/8" on the top. The fan is on a switch which is only hot with the ignition on. I'm going to wait and see if it has warm up problems in cold weather before putting a shut off valve in the supply line.
