I have a 1979 luv with 1.8 in it. I started having trouble with moisture in the dist. Got rid of the moisture now it will not crank. Tried new wires, plugs an points. still will not crank, found out I was not getting any fire to points. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

My guess would be coil or ballast resistor.

Check for voltage on both side of the ballast resister if voltage present then check coil.

Thanks it was the ballast resister. Now I have voltage all the time to points even with the switch off. What do you think?
I was thinking the voltage reg. might be stuck!!!

Thanks
