 Post subject: fuel pressure

does the luv have any kind of fuel pressure regulator? mine is burning rich and i've got the glass window in my float bowl and it's full all the way to the top. way obove the line. i just rebuilt the carb and it didn't change a thing.

That round window is off center on that plate. The window should be ABOVE center not below.
Your float could need adjusting. The new parts you put in there might not be the exact same as the old ones.

the whole side of the bowl is a glass window and it's got a line on it. i have it on the way it came from the factory with the line above center. how do you adjust the float?

It should tell you in the rebuild kit instructions.
But inside the float chamber, you have to bend the metal part of the float so it will stop or start the flow of fuel sooner or later depending on what you need.

:idea: Did you check to see if your float was saturated and sinking causing your flooding problem :roll:

it floats. it floats all the way to the top. i think i'm gonna try bending it.

I had that problem when i rebuilt my stock carb many, many years ago. The kit i got was for a different carb but i didn't figure that out until i was half way thru the rebuild. I tried using it anyway and the needle/seat assy was different. I cleaned up the old one and used it to get the truck to work. It wasn't 2 months later that i ponied up for a Weber.
