 Post subject: radiator cap

Looking for the correct radiator cap for a stock 1.8L engine with a coolant recovery tank. I replaced the cap that came with the recovery tank with a Stant 16 lb non-vented cap.. The problem I am having is the recovery tank fills up and will not siphon the water back into the radiator when it cools down.

Another thing I noticed is the radiator still had pressure on it after a few days of sitting idle... Engine was completely cold..

Found the I have a small internal leak. Talked to a local mechanic and he suggested that I use K&W block sealer. Has anyone used this or any other sealer.

Welcome to the site. And sorry, no, I'm not familiar with the stuff.

Sounds to me like it could be a slightly blown head gasket , which I don't think that stuff will fix. It will just keep getting worse.

KW block sealer is damn good sealer i have used it allot of times but it will not cure a head gasket problem but it will sure stop block and head problems. Hope this helps and good luck
