is the knocking noise coming from the engine or transmission. if its from the engine, i wouldn't be driving it unless you have a spare block. it would be bad for it to blow and take out the side of your block.

well 800xl i went to have oil changed in tranny and motor and the tranny doesnt really make sound much its hard to hear over the weber carb

and it is the tranny when i push in clutch the noise will stop but since oil change i got today it might have cleared it up but i notice now my clutch is in need of replacing after a lot of burnouts and stuff oops

It sounds like a chirp? It would seem like it is the clutch disk fingers wearing off. My 81 did it.

i think my tranny is fine now i think it was jus low on oil i cant really hear the noise but ya clutch dad says needs adjusted

well didnt adjust it and i just started hearing the same noise again in my transmission it is definetly the bearings it needs to be rebuilt so soon i will so it still is a problem well i m jus gonna drive it for a while i m too tired to work on it right now thanks guys thanks for listening
