I've got a problem with my brakes. When I come to a stop, while holding the pedal down if I keep hard pressure on it, it is just fine, but if I let up on the pedal at all, even just a little bit, the pedal loses pressure and goes all the way to the floor and I lose my brakes. I've looked all over for a leaking line but found none. There's a tiny hole on the booster just under the master cylinder flange and a little fluid seems to be coming from there, but it only seems to do it while the truck is parked. Any ideas???

you have a bad master cylinder its not holding up to pressure the fluid you see leaking is brake fluid leaking out of the back of the master cylinder.

You might just have air in your lines. Try bleeding your brakes.

Thanks guys. I'll try bleeding the brakes. Would have done that already but don't have much time to do anything. Does anyone sell a rebuild kit for the master cylinder or am I going to have to buy a new or remanufactured one?
Thanks
Ken

You might try looking on ebay for a NOS master cylinder there is usually a couple on there.

Thanks everyone. I'm getting a remanufactured master cyl from O'Reilly's. It's kind of funny though, the rebuilt master is a dollar less than the rebuild kit to do it myself. Either way I've got to wait until tomorrow to get it. Thanks again everyone.

well good luck whith that. Remember that when you de any brake work youll have to bleed the brakes to get the air out so they dont dead pedal.

i'd advise you not to get that oreily master cylinder, if its the cheap lifetime warranty one. i have one and i'm on my 4th or 5th. i've lost count. the only reason i keep putting them on there is cause they are free, since the lifetime warranty. one of them was bad off the shelf. after replaceing your fourth one u start to regret getting the cheap one. the one i have on now is even starting to go out.

I hear what you're saying. I've been through the cheap part routine a few times. Right now it's the only option I've got though. It sucks but I'm prepared for it. Thanks for the info though.
