I was hoping to get my bed back on this weekend but am having trouble finding the relacement filler tube hose for the tank. I thought this would be an easy find but I am 4 stores down and nowhere to go. I even hit the industrial hardware store with no luck. Its is a short hose on a 72 and somewhere around 1.25" ID. I thought about some of that clear vinyl tubing but don't know how it would hold up.

Anyone know where to get something that will work?

I got a straight hose when I put my bed on, the bend in the hose is pretty sharp for that big a hose. I was thinking a hose clamp to smoosh the kink. The only problem is I can't press the trigger very hard or use the hold down at the pump. Air can't get past the gas in the hose and the pump stops :x Let us know what you figure out for sure

you should be able to pick it up at a NAPA or other parts store that carries stuff for semis.Just call your favorite parts tore. They should have it.Take your filler tube with to use as a guide. On mine I used like 6 or 8 inches.

I'll give Napa a try, it was the last place's suggestion too, but I was tired of driving all over by then.

It was a learning experience. Napa had a hose that was close from a Ford for $38 and I passed on that. I then found O'riellys has bulk hose but not 1 3/4". I ended up going to the junk yard and finding a 78 longbed that still had a hose for $5. I can cut it to fit and it cleaned up real nice too.

If I had known what a hassle it is to find the right hose I would have removed the old one more carefully. 8O

That's the story of our lives with these trucks, always try to save anything coming apart.
