Guys Does anyone make a cam for the 1.8 so you can get more RPMs out of the little bugger? I am maxed out at 75 mph and it sounds like a sewing machine! I know I can change gears too but what out of? What is the stock gear ration for a 75 2wd?

2WD pups 81/87 with the diesel are mostly 3.73 and a few are 3.42

pups that are 4WDs or are with auto trans in 81/87 are 4.11s

troopers 84/87 are 4.55s and will fit.

your luv should be 4.11s that was very common.
sence your getting to 75mph i don't think you have 4.55s
though a few where 3.73s

Give Delta a call, tell them what you want, they will suggest a cam grind. For the 2.3/2.6 engines a 260 is a high torque at lower rpm grind, the 270 gives more hp at higher rpms, sounds like the 1.8/2.0 grinds are similar. You may have to send them an old cam to re-grind, ask.
Some early LUVs came with 4.56 gears, you need to determine whether yours has them or 4.10's- by far the most common over the years- then you can determine what would be the best ratio to change to.

Well I gave them a call and I need to send in a cam for them to weld up..no blanks. They also want the rockers(followers) for resurfacing. Any body got a cam and followers for 1.8 they want to get rid of? I need to keep mine running as long as possible.

Your '75 should have a 4.56:1 rear axle. The 4.11s didn't show up until '76.

I will have to do the rotation test and figure it out. The old cam to use as a blank might be a headache.
