hey guys ive got a couple of rather noobish questions so here i go

1. how do identify which motor i have? im unsure as to whether i have the 1.8 or the 1.6
2. will a gearbox from a 1.6 bolt straight up to a 1.8? or will i need to modify?
3. so noobish its embarrasing but where do i find my VIN number?
4. can you tell what year your LUV is by the VIN?

Engine can be identified by raised lettering on the side of the engine block & front of head.
1.6, 1.8 AND 2.O engines used the same gearbox ( same as used in Holden Geminis)
Vin # can be found on x member between chasis rails under rear of cab
Your year of manufacture can be found stamped on alloy plate rivited to firewall.

i couldnt find the VIN on the cross member, does anyone have pics of where it is? also i have found what i assume is the VIN on a plate in the engine bay pic attached
the plate reads

GENERAL MOTORS HOLDENS LIMITED
B200091687281

is this my VIN?

alsoin the picture the other plate on the second line stamped 11-79 i assume this means my luv was built in november 1979?

seems like were the oinly 1s in aus that have luv trucks haha

Pull the air vent or as i call it the cowl vent cover (where the wipers come out of) and the VIN will be stamped on top on the left side-- well in the states anyway LOL. yours should be the same. Good day to ya mate
