Well, I decided to fix the 80' motor to run, instead of swapping motors with the 78'. It's better to have one running than to have none. I have found that the timing chain is set incorrectly, the different color link is WAY off! The cam marks seem to be correct, the only thing I can see is the #4 valves are loose instead of tight, to bring the #4 to firing position. Tomorrow I'll try and get the front cover off to look at the crank shaft marks. The crankshaft key way is facing UP. Is this correct? Apparently the oil pump was set in wrong along with awhole lot of other stuff when the motor was put together. Basically I would like to know the way you would set the timing marks for the motor while assembling the motor.
One more question...... My heater in the 78' blows HOT air but the CAB WILL NOT GET WARM! I have to dress warm to get to work. And yes I have carpet and that is it. The windows are sealed good, is it the uninsulated factor of the roof, doors, and rear cab? Have the original head liner though.
Thanks to the people who started this site and the people who participate with thier .02 cents worth. A BIG THANK YOU!!!
