Hi all,
Just joined up today.
I have a 1980 automatic (cant remember the engine # right now) but its been sitting un used for about a year and a half. I want to move it to the driveway. I put a bit a gas in carb and it started right up FIRST TRY..I love this truck anyway after it burns the fuel up it dies. I have done the following with no results and before I start taking stuff apart wanted to hear some thoughts as to what else I might try.
Added gas to the carb
yes, it has gas in the tank
blew out the fuel line from the carb to the tank
added gas to the fuel line in hopes to prime it or create suction.
Battery is good
I also disconnected the fuel line and cranked it but NO fuel came out.
Everything else is fine on the truck and the last time I drove it it worked fine.
This is what has me confused. the fuel filter (see through) on the frame in front of the tank under the driver side. has NO fuel in it. theres a good 3 gallons of fuel in the tank right now. I had some additive in it when I parked it and started it about 7 months ago.
Having no gas in the filter I fear its the fuel pump

isn't it located in the tank?
My next step if I can get around to doing it today is to disconnect the line comming into the filter.
Your thoughts will be appreciated thank you
