the pontiac 400 will fit, you just need to tweak the mounting process a bit due to the different size of the engine. fire up your search button.. somewhere on here is a topic discussing some particulars. I know it can be done and it's not that much harder than the SBC swap.

Any engine will fit, just depends how much work you want to put into it. Good luck. :)

, because everything is a little bigger, and a little different. Bigger means more cutting and fabbing, and more expense. I have to tell you the " how to engine and trans install for a Chevy 350/350 " that Ben has put on this site is worth a lot of money. It would take you weeks of continious looking and asking questions to come up with what they have "given us ". If you really want to do it right, buy a Hemmings motor news, and find the people selling the SHOP MANUAL for the year Pontiac engine and trans that you have. It will give you the dimensions and weight of the engine and trans, and maybe the motor mount measurements. Take it from Hooker, and Hedman Header Companies they make headers for putting a Chevy 350/350 into your Luv. They don't make them for Pontiac. If you don't have several engine swaps under your belt, you probably should not attempt it. It will cost you much less to go fast, if you sell the Pontiac, and buy a Chevy setup. They are cheaper to buy and parts are abundant. Pontiacs are good engines, but they are much more expensive to build. For the same money you will spend, I can build a Chevy that will be faster lighter, and easier to sell when the time comes, plus because of the parts availability I can build it a lot faster. Not trying to rain on your parade, just giving you the cold hard facts.
